I spent most of lab today assuring people that 95/75 was my actual blood pressure and no, they weren't "doing it wrong".

The logic we're taught is the bigger the person, the higher the blood pressure is as a basis as to how much pressure to put in the cuff. I'm the biggest person in my class and have the 2nd lowest blood pressure.

The truth is most of my family is hypertensive and medicated for it but mine has always been low. It just makes it ironic when people tell me I need to relax or I'll have a heart attack/blow a gasket. My blood work is killer too. I really have no idea why.

If I wasn't this high strung I might just collapse. ;-P

One of the girls in lab revealed she's an egg donor which I think is wicked cool on her part. Personally, I think you should adopt if you have trouble conceiving because there are so many kids who need homes but I think it's cool that she's willing to do something like that. Especially for strangers.

I'm teetering on the brink of a bad sinus infection again and am back on heavy decongestants. Please let me get better before the week end.

Today is all about studying though I feel a strong pull to go to the beach. I have Cubby's birthday dinner tonight and my final tomorrow so I really have to study today. I'm still too rational to say "I'll study on the beach" ....but it is only 11:50. ;-)

Hey! Why am I not surprised? Mine is regularly 90/60 and whenever I get my blood pressure taken I'm always asked "Do you feel faint?" "Can you stand up?" or "Are you dizzy?" And they always, despite whatever I say, take it again.

In the peak of labor contractions with Jacob, before they realized he wasn't going to fit and did the c-section, my BP topped at 120/80.

In my family though, this is normal...we all have really low blood pressure. They're normal sized though, and since I'm not, it is always expected that I have high blood pressure.

Dad always had ridiculously low blood pressure. Something like 100/70 most of the time. When we was ill, it got lower and lower. At something like 70/50, the doctors were amazed he was even alive.

I credit his low blood pressure with balancing my mother's high blood pressure, so mine is very normal most of the time. It does have a tendancy toward going higher when I am stressed or overweight, but now that I'm dieting it's been like 110/75. I can live with that.
