Color Me Relieved

Took the final - no real idea how I did - at least it's over. I know I got one question wrong. A simple formula from chapter 2 - how to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius. I completely blanked. Took the exam and came back to it and finally just guessed.

I'm always amazed at the things I loose hold of - usually it's names. I'll see someone I've met before and I'll be able to remember freaky details about the conversation or where we were when we met but I'll have no idea w
hat their name is. Sometimes I forget an ingredient when shopping and I’ll get home and realize I forgot to buy eggs to bake the cake with, etc. I'll have remembered every other freaky thing and random details (like a certain color sprinkle or candles for the person event..).

Anyway, I'm DONE for the semester. :-)

I forgot how great this feels.

Congratulations!

I'm the same way with names. I can remember someone's screen name vividly, but have trouble remembering 'real' names. Most recently, this happened to me on Santa Saturday, when I met a few LJ friends, and had to wait until I overheard someone else use their first names.

And, in the 'I'm just getting old' front, I'm almost at the point where I have to carry around a notepad and pen, to make notes of things that I'll have to remember later. I used to make fun of Jeff, with his wallet full of notes.

Until I became him.

My sister said the great relief of becoming a teacher was to maintain that wondrous feeling of excitement you experience on the last day of school, right after the last final, knowing an entire summer full of possibility stretched out before you.

I imagine it's a similar experience for winter break. Enjoy.
