I finished two of the three 4 foot long spiders. They're not perfect but they're pretty damn cool. I'm much too pleased with myself over some salvaged lumber and trash bags. ;-)

I had finished the first one and lit him up to see what he looked like when the DPW guys came and opened the hydrant down the street. It Let out this wooshing sound that made my neighbors all come out of their house.

The kids across the street (yes the same ones concerned that I would leave the spiders headless) came out and started yelling "Look at his eyes! His eyes!" while their parents tried to figure out why there was all this water rushing down the street.

The youngest one then launched into a huge story about the still headless spider climbing the house. His parents dutifully stood outside in the chill listening for about 5 minutes. I love this kid. He's crazier than I am.

I have one more to go - I'll wrap up the eyes tonight and maybe finish the last one tomorrow. I'm kind of tired.

Anyway, I'll take pictures Friday (I'll be home at dusk so you can see their evil light up eyes).
