A few years ago I was at summer camp and saw a comet shower from a hill on a farm. Dozens of lights streaking across the sky. I can still recall the coolness of the night no my sunburn and the smell of the corn. I love stars. The best part of camp for me was sneaking out to see the stars - far away from the suburban glare you could see so many more.

Last night was the peak of the Perside comet showers and it was too over cast here to see any. I was hoping to see the end of the show tonight but it's overcast again. I'm disappointed, but can smile knowing what they'd look like.

Once, years ago at scout camp, the Northern Lights came way down and filled half the night sky. It was a full display with rippling sheets, balls of color, flashes, everything! It was so light and silent out it woke me up. I got up, crawled out of my tent and starred. I woke my whole patrol and well all just stood there looking up. The scout master heard us and got up and came over.

Now, if you were an adult and came across a usually rambunctious group of kids all standing still in a group silently staring up in the middle of the night, what would you do? Nope. He didn't look up. He said something like "What are you kids doing?"

We collectively turned, gave him a stupid look and just pointed upward. Then he looked up. "Oh. What's that?"

That's classic. :-)

I've never seen the Northern Lights, so I'm jealous.

What are htp's?

I miss living near my mum as she's a train masseuse. Sadly she only trained after I left home!

5 htps are a natural version of prozac and that lot. They keep your seratonin levels from dropping too low.

What summer camp were you at a few years ago? Or are you much younger than I thought? Admit it, you were talking about band camp!

Am I that old?

Actually, it was almost 20 years ago. Wow. It feels like it was a few years ago...

It was 4H camp, close but not quite. ;-P
