Score one for the Houseboy
Feb. 10th, 2006 11:11 amOne of the things I do a lot of is addressing "issues" with the house. Furniture deliveries/returns and the drama with the contractor are the biggies of late. I get frustrated and sad that people behave so badly - often for fear of taking responsibility or owning up to their own errors.
Ironically, if you admit you're wrong or made a mistake and try to address it I'm pretty good. But if you dodge me in the hopes I'll just give up, you're looking for trouble. I've shifted into the "I won't be ignored Dan" mode with the contractor this week and things seem to be finally getting resolved. Of course the two guys who made the error and who have been being jack asses about getting back to me or answering my questions had little to do with the resolution. The woman who works in the office and handles the paper work helped me. Of course I've called repeatedly to get to this point.
I mean, if you say "I'll call you back with an answer in 30 minutes - I just need to go through the papers" I'm willing to give you an hour - and then I call back. If you "aren't available" I'll just keep calling. I'm also reading the contract and talking to the better business bureau in between those calls.
Yeah, I'm that bitch.
Anyway, I'm glad that this is now off my plate. There may not even be anyone to call next Friday. :-)
