You know how I hate to paint? I actually don't mind spackle-ing(?). Its' the sanding I'm not too keen on.

I removed the "mis-targeted" anchors form the wall and I'm off to buy fresh spackle to fill in the holes.

Last night I went with Bri to meet the boys for dinner after chorus rehearsal. We stopped at Burlington to return towels we got for Christmas (they were cool but too red). I figured I would try and flip that credit for curtains for the dinning room or baskets for the bathroom. We found two cool ones but the store only had one panel of one of them and none of the other. Bri knew of another n the way to Princeton so we stopped there and bought panels of the one they had.

They're a gold on gold paisley which just looks like it should be a mid 60's Chanel suit. Bri and I kept saying we were going to make Nehru jackets out of them.

Mr Bear and I hung them up last night and they're short (because nothing in this cursed house is the right height/angle/...). They're repackaged and ready to go back later today. I'm disappointed because they were wonderfully arch and it would have been great to get that off my list (and it's not even on my "immediate to do list"!).

I have a lot of random things to do today.

The image I'm looking for from "Alice in Wonderland" is either from the cartoon or a figment of my imagination. I was shocked to realize how many of the images I had from the books I read growing up were actually mental and not illustrations in the books themselves. The images/memories are so vivid.

It's also a little disturbing how "soft" the illustration of children's books has gotten. It's all muted colors and washes. Apparently, children must be protected from strong color and bold design. [rolls eyes] Most of the books I've bought the kids were classics ("Curious George", "Madeline", etc) that had escaped redoing, or "Olivia". I was amazed at the number of versions of "Alice" there were and how the illustrations managed to over look any of the scary/truly creepy parts.

Mr Bear might be able to get us tickets to the Chita Rivera show from his job. It means we're going to skip Phillip Glass at Galapagos. I'm Ok with that. mr Bear offered to go to Chita on Friday night and play Saturday by ear but I said No. We'll spend Friday frantically fighting traffic to get in for the show and Saturday we won't go in for the Glass thing and I'll eb annoyed. I know how we are and I'd rather just know I'm not going than hope we will and be disappointed. I'm not being melodramatic - just pragmatic.

Oy. Sears wants $95 to come look at our treadmill. unlike a washer or dryer, you have to pay $95 whether you fix it or not. A new treadmill is about $300 or 400. That sucks.

Ok, time to get with scanning kids book covers...
