Friday Night's All Right
Jun. 25th, 2004 09:25 pmI actually posted something earlier today and saw it posted but it's gone now. lol
I saw "Chronicles of Riddick" with Perk today. It was cool, though the story lacked a lot of detail. It tried to do that 'drop you into the world' rather than explain thing, but it just didn't work out. That's not to say I didn't really like it. I have to say it's Vin Diesel's best film. I tend to shy away from anything he's in since "xXx".
Then I came home and hung with the dogs while Perk drove home in the rain. I watched "Pather Panchali" (also known as "Song of the Road" and "The Lament of the Path"), the first in Satyajit Ray's trilogy. It was slow moving but truly beautiful. The film has a wonderful way of letting the story just unfold rather than telling it. It's beautifully filmed and incredibly intimate. I recommend it, if you're cool with a slow pace and subtitles over Bengali.
I'm packing for the weekend - it's Pride and we're going to stay in the city tomorrow and Sunday night. Tomorrow night we're going on the Bear Boat Cruise. We won the tickets at Fur Ball, so my not really wanting to go seems silly. If we had to pay, it might be easier to talk Mr Bear out of it. But then, probably not. It'll probably be more fun than i'm expecting. I hope it will. I'm lobbying to go to Homo Corp at CBGB's after it.
Sunday we'll do a little of the parade then the Pier Party. I'm really looking forward to that. A bunch of the guys are going with us.
nit much else going on. I'm going to neaten the house and vacuum so it's nice when we get home on Monday. Mr Bear is at work. He's working late so having Monday off won't be a big deal. I'd pack for him but he'll need more "outfit options" than I can bear to think about. And he'd pick different stuff anyway. lol
OK, back to packing.
Things I Am Grateful For
Perk coming to hang out
Lightening
Having Enough
Gotten as far in the fight for Equality as we have
My family and they're being cool with us
The concerned expression Tess gets when she sits by the door
Reese's Pieces
Things I Want Today
A few days to do nothing
A few days in the studio
Panels for the 'white' collage (it'd be nice if they magically appeared in the studio)
General Tso's chicken
