What Do You Think?
Feb. 21st, 2011 08:44 pmOK, this video was posted on Facebook. It really bothers me to see this kid ape sexually suggestive dance like this. While I know he is playing and mimicking something he enjoys (brilliantly, I might add) I just find it alarming. Take out a few of the moves and I'm totally OK.
It ins't gender (boy in drag portraying a girl - nonissue). It is the age and the sexual nature of the movements. I've been really thinking about this for a while trying to boil it down to WHY it bothers me and if I am over reacting.
I know I am pretty conservative when it comes to children. Too much so at times I think. It is something I am working on.
So - what are your thoughts on this video? Does it bother you? Why? Would it be different if it was a girl? If the kid was older? Not in drag?
