Mother's Day
May. 10th, 2008 10:57 pmI drove an hour to speak to my Mom and StepMom for about a minute each. My Mom sat beside me at the restaurant but was quickly over ruled by a kid who squeezed into the booth between us and then another who hauled a chair over between my Mom's chair and the kid in the booth. I think the rest of the adults were a little relieved to be kid free. lol
Sweet Pea is obsessed with my little camera and took about 60 pictures of the table, my legs and her hand. At one point I was trying to take a picture of my Dad (with her holding the camera) and she tore the camera from my hands , accidentally popping the batteries out into the ice cream. It amazes me how fast kids go from playful rough housing to "oh no I was bad" fearfulness. We fished the batteries out of the ice cream, cleaned them up and gave her the camera back.
Yes, that's spoiling her but I'm her uncle, not her parent. ;-)
The kids decided my name was "Joe Mama" for the last half of dinner. Cole and I were trying to build a house of cards with Peyton's flash cards while the girls tried to get it to fall by breathing heavy. I wonder what the people on other side of the half wall thought of the constant shouting "No Breathing!".
I'm tired and happy. Mr Bear is in Philly for work. I miss him but I'm pretty beat so I'll be a sleep real soon.
