guywithmonsters: (Corduroy's day)
After two coats of primer you can still see some of the black but I don't care - I LOVE IT. Now I just need more magnets. And then some more...

And yes, [livejournal.com profile] 42601, I am going to get a mermaid magnet. Merman, if I can.

It's nice out but a little breezy. I started to paint the iron railings out front but my tarp keeps blowing around. It'll keep until tomorrow or so. At least they're iron brushed and dusted. It's amazing how cleaner the part I did get painted looks.

I think I may go to the beach, but it's a little cool out... Maybe just "The Eldest" in the hammock instead. I'm all about Sloth today. Probably a way of dealing with my jealousy of Mr Bear's dinner at the Rainbow Room tonight. I know it'll totally be conference food but I just want to go there once. Granted, a work dinner isn't really how I envisioned it. I'll just eb content in the knowledge he'll be tired and bored and I'll be slightly tan and rested. ;-)

From the ACLU: "Your Phone Records: Act Now in a Nationwide Call for Regulation"

It's illegal and un-American for your phone company to hand over your phone records to the government without a legal order. But it looks like that's just what they're doing: violating the privacy and rights of millions of innocent Americans in the process.

The phone companies have no right to forfeit your privacy. And just last night we learned that the FCC has refused to investigate these illegal actions, using the same "state secrets" excuse used by the very phone companies it's supposed to hold accountable.

Today, the ACLU is launching a nationwide consumer campaign demanding that regulators do their jobs and protect our privacy. We need your help.

Act now to stop phone companies from abusing your privacy.

Contact your Senator about the Gay Marriage Amendment Vote Scheduled for June 6th

In case you're resting on there being even less support than there was last time - let me remind you elections are coming and the religious right isn't taking this lightly. Several of their "action emails" have gone out to groups urging their members to contact their senators. They're including links to things like this article and using quotes like "The future of our children is at stake" to get the herd riled up.

Use one of their sites to email your Senators then take a minute to call them as that somehow seems to count more in terms of "public opinion" in their offices. Find your Senator's contact information here.
