Vincas and the Lost City of Millie
May. 30th, 2004 10:56 amWe took Mr Bear's mom to see "Thoroughly Modern Millie" yesterday. It was fun, but the show is not as tight or as good as when I saw it in Previews a year or two ago. I'm so used to seeing things in previews that the lack of joy and intensity startles me when I shows that have been running for a while. There's a few reasons I think that is, but it's really not that important. They enjoyed it, which is what matters.
Before hand we grabbed lunch at "Meet Cafe". The food was good and we sat outside since it was a perfect day.
After the show we stopped at a BBQ at Mr Bear's brother's girlfriends. It was fun. I met a guy who looked familiar. He said I looked familiar and knew what I did for a living though we both don't know how we've met. it was a straight party and his way pregnant wife didn't look familiar. Even knowing he's straight, I still had that uneasy "I think I slept with you but don't remember" feeling. It was weird.
Today is a house warming/Birthday party for my brother in law and my sister Jaime. I'm not fond of this brother in law, but I'd do anything for my sister so we're going. Mr BEar and i won't stay long as we have stuff tod o for the house today too. I'm hoping to get some Vinca around the new patio and to mulch the beds in the back yard/around the patio. We won''t get everything planted for a while but we don't want the mud and weeds either. ;-)
I want to plant day lillies and irises in a bed, but feel weird about putting beds in when we have to plant around the patio. I'm trying to not plant flowering plants around the patio so as not to attract bees (save Vincas and the existing rose bushes). I may cave and plant flowers, but I'm trying to be reasonable about it.
OK, time to hit the bank and maybe the art/craft store. I want wood boxes for this assemblage I'm making. Hopefully, I can find ones big/cheap enough or I'll have to make them.

To plan with my nieces and nephews
To figure out a way to start having more freee money again (car payments suck)
