Where did my day go? I'm only 1/3 through my work and still have to do my homework and get to the tutor's before going home.
Wow, this actually working for a living sort of sucks.
It occurs to me that Dexter having a laboratory and an outrageous accent with out his family realizing he's a mad scientist is not too much unlike my making my cousins stage "Swan Lake" in our attic, loving Gladiator movies and no one realizing I was gay. Myself included.
The really funny part is I had never seen "Swan Lake" or any other ballet but knew the title. We used some Disney instrumental and I can remember that our main character was a deer. Out side of that (and that part of the staging involved my train set) I don't remember much of that production.
I was always making up games or complete worlds. There was an epic tale about gnomes with red hair the color of the tall grass near my grandparents (it was how they were able to wander around without being noticed); an ongoing battle between opposing forces in the "outerworld" which existed like an invisible shell around ours - Storms were the result of battles there; and a alternate world of magic involving "keystones" shaped live smooth river rocks that allowed you to travel between it, and our world. Those were the ones I remember best at the moment.
One of the worst parts of being "an adult" is the lack of make believe in day to day life. The lack of imagination is stifling. I do what i can to escape it - the Drag Party should be a grand excursion into that fabulous realm.
I think people in general would be happier if they were allowed a bit of full on play time now and then. Not time with a game cube or in a softball league, but real play.
I have no idea how I got on this subject. Yeah medication. LOL
