Make Me Hot, Baby

We're back from Chicago and there's heat in the studio! I'm wiring the new wall so I can finish sheet rocking it. I'm also waiting for our house guests to wake up and decide where they want to go/what they want to do today.

Chicago was fun - We got to the Field Museum and they were closing early. I could see Sue from the ticket counter but the woman wouldn't let us in. The truth is I was really disappointed, but I tried to be good about it. No berating the drunks for taking so long to get up or insisting we take a bus (the wrong one no less).

The guys and I wandered into the gift shop to mull where we were headed next. Mr. Bear talked the woman into letting me see Sue. He grabbed me in the store and said "Come on!" and next thing I knew I was in front of the most complete T Rex. I got to see Sue! :-) Yes, I know this is incredibly geeky. I love dinosaurs and have read the account of Sue's twisted journey like a page turner more than once.

We also saw the Hoppers at the Art Institute, as well as a ton of other stuff. Millennium Park was cool - I love the Cloud Gate. The Gehry band shell was wonderful, my favorite of what little of his work I've seen in person.

All in all we had a fab time. I'm tired but eager to get the rest of the walls in the basement up and sheet rocked.

We saw "Brokeback mountain" last night. It was wonderful.

OK, back to work.

He rocks. His paintings never fail to move me in a way that most others do not.

Hey, you have a friend in NJ/NYC that's a professional framer right? Can you pass along his contact info?

Congrats on meeting Sue in the fl... bone? ;-}

That would be Fletcher but I lost his info when my Palm died. I can ask around - are you looking for bulk/a lot of framing? How close to NY do you need them to be?

Looking fir a framer in the NYC area we can trust. Trying to see if it's cheaper to ship artwork to a framer there and then onto the buyer or frame here and ship that way.
