Recent Amusements

  • I spent most of the "Overture" of "Funny GIrl" trying to figure out why there was no picture. I was about to switch the DVD player with the one in the studio when the credits started...

  • Today I am publishing a "Disaster Policy" which not only tells us what to do in case of a Nuclear Attack, Tsunami or Earthquake but gives definitions for them (in case you weren't sure if the mushroom cloud alone was enough to identify the problem). Personal Favorite: the Power Outage instructions published on an internal web site. "If you loose power..." [smirk]

  • An email from a friend asking to amend the above policy to say "Don't panic. It only takes seconds to evaporate and you won't feel anything".

  • Accidentally having put the car CD player on random and wondering why the CD wouldn't play songs in the right order.

  • Debating whether to put the frozen dinner someone put in the office fridge in the freezer and deciding not to for fear of being accused of stealing it.

Disaster policies are funny. Thou shalt not fear the mushroom cloud, as the Paramus office is close enough to Manhattan that the surrounding areas will most likely be destroyed before you even know what hit.

The CD random incident is funny. Another funny trick to do would be to record a CD with one or two songs out of order and exchange the CD when noone is looking at their CD player :-)

I wouldn't touch the misplaced frozen dinner. People get all strange with their food at work. It could be laced with some black light tracking powder.

Yeah, we'd never even know a bomb hit. It's all about insurance policies... ick.

I think people become grade schoolers when they work in an office. They totally revert ot these dramas and alliances. [rolls eyes]

Be Prepared

Reminded me of the time I was going to scout camp. One of the leaders was reading off a check list. Everyone got underware? Yup. Everyone got rain gear? Yup. Anyone allergic to bee stings? One guy. Do you have your bee sting kit? No - "I don't intend to get stung."
