Un Pepperoni
Oct. 2nd, 2002 10:58 amLast night I made calzones. It was wonderful to be cooking again. I LOVE to cook. They looked great, with sesame seeds on top and nice and golden brown. I used soy cheese and meatless pepperoni. I thought I was being healthy. I was being stupid. the soy cheese was OK but the meatless pepperoni tasted like bologna. It was like eating a bologna and cheese sandwich that's been on a hot bus all day. And I didn't even get to be on the field trip before I had my lunch....
Work is sucking but what else is new. my boss is rushing everything through to try and recover from a series of bad decisions he's already rushed us through. It's almost comical how he never learns. I can't help but wonder if anyone outside our department sees this pattern.
There were more cuts at work yesterday. SO far we can place about 20 people who were cut. There's been no discussion of it officially - they're not really lay offs. We're just letting some people go. this is so AWS. We said we're not going to have lay offs and we didn't - we just let some people go. No one said lay off...
I'm a little worried but the truth is I would like to be laid off. It'd force me to get on with my life. So long as I can collect unemployment. I've never collected unemployment before. I'd actually go to cooking school. I'm thinking of starting part time anyway.
Well, I gotta go home and get my wallet. I totally forgot it and I need money to get into Manhattan for the pay tonight. "The Graduate" - wahoo!
